Thank you for taking the time to visit this website for Nancy and her family. Nancy Young and her family need your help. Nancy was diagnosed spring 2000 with Multiple Sclerosis. There is no cure for MS, but there is great hope in remission by receiving a stem cell treatment.
Experts at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL have evaluated Nancy and they have determined that she is an excellent candidate for a stem cell transplant. This treatment requires Nancy and Ken to travel to Chicago for treatments over a 2-month period.
Nancy has lived in Saint Clair, MI for most of the last 30 years. She has been active in many children's activities at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Saint Clair, but has had to cut back on involvement due to fatigue and other symptoms of MS. Nancy's hope is to return to full involvement in her church and family activities after her transplant and recovery.
This transplant research uses stem cells harvested from Nancy's own blood. Because of the extraordinary expense of stem cell transplantation, we need your help! This Stem Cell transplant program is an FDA approved Clinical trial that has a 10-year history in Chicago and other respected teaching hospitals in the US. This treatment is an accepted covered treatment in most of Europe and Asia, but is struggling to get recognition from the big business of American Health Insurance companies. Nancy needs to raise $75,000 before she can start treatment.
To help defray such uninsured expenses, a campaign in Nancy's Honor has been established with the National Transplant Assistance Fund (NTAF). NTAF is a nonprofit organization that has been helping the transplant community for the past 20 years. All donations are tax-deductible and are administered for transplant-related expenses only.
